About

We are a British owned company, which is currently of medium size but rapidly expanding. We specialize in the development, design and manufacture of technologically innovative diagnostic equipment that pushes not only the limits of technological capability, but is typically far more capable and feature rich than even the vehicle manufacturers own systems.

History

Late June 2008: The FAULTMATE MSV-2 Vehicle server is introduced as a replacement for the highly successful FAULTMATE MSV. Not only does it keep all the flexibility and advantages of its predecessor but it has much more memory, much more storage capacity and runs far faster. Also because it has a Vehicle communications Interface and license / ID hardware built-in rather than external items, it significantly reduces the cost of complete systems. Previously a complete single vehicle Kit for a P38 was GBP 557 and is now just GBP 497.

On 1st December 2007:
FAULTMATE MV and SV Vehicle servers were replaced with a single much more advanced FAULTMATE MSV vehicle server that not only serves the functions of both predecessors and much more besides but at a cost just GBP 149, it is the best value for money vehicle server we have ever created.

In October 2007: EAS Kicker, the Portable Air Suspension fault code reader was released.

In June 2007: Faultmate SV & Faultmate MV are launched. Although The SV is a fully capable professional class system, like the out going LITE system, the SV costs vastly less due to it being limited to use on one single Vehicle (SV). The system is priced at a fixed fee of between £500 Sterling to £950 Sterling depending on the model. The MV is modular like the LITE & PRO, however it has a much larger memory as well as a removable identity module. Neither modules are wireless but both will take an add on module to be introduced later this year.

In May 2007: Coverage was updated significantly for all the latest Land Rover vehicles, right up to the new Defender introduced in early 2007.

In 2006: Coverage for MG & Rover was added to both systems.

In 2004: A hardware enhanced version of ROVACOM LITE called ROVACOM PRO which included wireless connectivity and a smart super small Tablet PC was released. This replaced the original ROVACOM and even today is the most advanced diagnostic system there is.

In 2003: A new system called ROVACOM LITE was released, which although vastly more advanced and feature rich than ROVACOM, was specifically designed with affordability in mind for private individuals and enthusiasts. Using the customers own PC / Laptop, it was a modular concept that allowed customers to purchase only the minimal hardware and software required for the vehicle systems they wish to cover.

In 1999: This system was released via Allmakes Ltd to independent Land Rover repairers. Initially it was sold under the “Auto Logic” trade name; however we later re-named it to Rovacom due to a near identical looking clone being marketed under the same name.

In 1996: Blackbox’s founder began developing the world’s first independent Land Rover diagnostic equipment, based on his then revolutionary, but now common place touch screen Tablet PC design.
