STEERING ANGLE (L322) - System Overview
This ECU is fitted as standard to all L322 range Rovers and is located on the lower portion of the steering column. Its main function is to interact via the CAN bus with the DSC 5.7 ECU to give it instant information regarding driver input and current wheel angle for it to make stability safety calculations.

SM052 - STEERING ANGLE (L322) - Diagnostic Capabilities (Read Fault Codes)
Reads the fault code memory. The ECU can self detect up to 16 different problems with itself, its wiring and its associated sensors, storing the respective code if it detects any malfunction or reading outside of pre defined acceptable limits. Not all stored faults may cause the fault warning lamp to illuminate.

  • Supplier Number: This is a number which defines the supplier, using a standard look up list of supplier ECU manufacturer numbers.

  • Left Front Virtual Wheel Speed: This is the ECUs internally calculated wheel speed in miles per hour for the left front wheel.

  • Right Rear Virtual Wheel Speed: This is the ECUs internally calculated wheel speed in miles per hour for the left rear wheel.
  • Virtual Yaw Velocity: This is the virtual yaw velocity displayed in degrees per second.
  • Virtual Transverse Acceleration: This is the internally calculated transverse acceleration in m/s².
  • Virtual Synthetic Angle: This is the virtual synthetic angle as shown in degrees.
